I am a guitar gear junkie. I think hearing gear with my own ears is the best way to judge it. That means that I’ve had a lot of gear pass through my hands over the years… Here I will chronicle some of that for your sake and mine.

Current Gear

Preface: My current rig is optimized for small venues, or venue’s where the amp will be mic’d.

Amps:

‘67 Fender VibroChamp chassis transplanted into a custom made dovetail jointed pine 1×12 combo with a Weber 12A100 alnico speaker.

Blackheart “Little Giant” 1×12 EL-84 tube combo. Ceramic Speaker.  Modded with carbon-comp resistors, orange drop/mallory caps, and a Hammond 125ESE Output Transformer.  A compact little marshal circuit style combo.

  • Hamer SATF – Import version of the hamer studio. upgraded with splittable nickle covered Duncan JB/59 pickups

  • ‘76 Gibson J-50 – I got this in unplayable shape and fixed the truss rod and reseated the neck.
